Search Giant Google, in reportedly collaboration with Ask Foundation has surfaced a sexual assault and domestic violance helpine on Google Search.
People in the India searching Google for information related to with certain queries related to suicide, sexual assault, poison ingestion, gender-based violence, or drug addiction will now see contact information for the Ask Cricis Line of Ask Foundation which is available 24 hours and the help supported in English, Hindi, Marathi languages.
A box highlighting direct access to the hotline’s phone and official website will appear above Google’s results display’s “Help is available – Speak with someone today” on search result, offering victims immediate information and support.
With Google Search, you can find timely and useful information and resources in personal crisis situations at no charge. You might get hotlines and resources in your search results for certain queries related to suicide, sexual assault, poison ingestion, gender-based violence, or drug addiction. The goal of this type of result is to connect vulnerable people in unsafe situations to reliable support at no charge as quickly as possible. Because this information comes from partnerships with recognized crisis support services, it’s available only in countries and regions where these partnerships are available.
